I'm Back!!!!

Alrighty there, I'm back...
It has been awhile since I've posted anything and I thought it was time for an update.
RL has been crazy but hopefully it'll slow down some soon.

WoW - I'm no longer part of KotC due to difference in raiding philosophy.
My RL friend and I left the guild and found a new home Crescendo.  It's an interesting progession raiding guild with an easy and laid back feel.  Currently we're running 10-man but the roster isn't set in stone.  So the team changes from week to week.  You might think how can that work... but it has... the guild is currently rank 5th on the server and is tied for 2nd on Alliance.  We're 6 of 7 in FL and Rag will be going down this week.
Here's what I enjoy about this guild...
People are there to raid and it's not just a mass ginvite to have the numbers.
When 1 group is working on progession, there's another group gearing people up in T11 content.
While working on a boss, there isn't any chatter in vent/mumble.
Raiders adapt and learn quickly.
There is no set 10-man team. . . we're progessing through content.
Goal is to raid 25-man content which we're coming close to it.

That is all for now.. until next time.

AFK

I know I haven't posted anything in ages... to be honest, there wasn't much going on in-game.

I do have an announcement to make... I'll be AFK for about a week.  I'll be flying back to Hawaii tomorrow morning, my mom took ill yesterday and ended up in the hospital.

Craziness

Alright, I must apologize... it has been A CRAZY WEEK in my household this week.
That has affect some of raid team members in trying to get them gear.

I'll be kicking into high gear and running heroics as much as a possible to get the ball moving.

Raid Roster Update

Line-up:
Tank - Nallah - DK alt
Tank - Leethal - Pally alt ***

Heal - Puka - Druid or Champange - Pally
Heal - Huggens - Druid
Heal - Krugg - Priest

RDPS - Lindssay - Shammy
RPDS - Skru - Lock
RPDS - Cryssannia - Mage
RDPS - Camari - Mage
MDPS - Bayonett - War

A few people needs gear either through heroics or crafted... that shouldn't be a problem.  I'm hoping to get everyone geared and ready in a week, two at the most.

Until my next post...

Holding pattern

Well the 2nd raid team is at a stand still.  We were suppose to step into our first raid this friday but, one of my healer, a new recruit left the guild yesterday to raid with a more progessive guild.  No ill feelings towards him, that's his $15 bucks.

I'm not sure how much longer my wife will be playing, the past 2 weeks I think she's been maybe a total of 2 hours.  She's not a person to login and farm, she wants to do stuff and at times we have to wait in queue in LFG and that's no fun for her.

I could bring in alts from the 1st team but that leads to a quick burn out in playing WoW and may cause family problems outside of the game... don't want to go that route.

I have a meeting tonight with those that were going to raid, I think I'll mention to them that I'll postpone our raid until I can find the 10 core people to start it up.

Looks like I'll be on Puka and let my alts get some rest while I try to recruit people that wants to commit to 2 night raid schedule.  I don't mind running heroics to get people geared up, it just more Justice/Valor points for me and I'll get a feel of each new recruit.  .  . sadly the pool of available good or even decent players on Garrosh is poor.

I will just have to wait and see... any and all classes are welcome to apply or talk to me in-game.  As I mentioned it doesn't matter what your gear is, that can be taken care of by heroics and crafted items.  I'm just looking for dedicated people who wants to have fun and knock out some bosses.

Until my next post....

A date with Magmaw

Next Friday, we'll venture into BWD and hopefully dine on a giant fried worm known as Magmaw.

Raid Comp
T - DK
T - Pally

H - Druid
H - Druid
H - Shammy

RDPS - Druid
RDPS - Lock
RDPS - Mage
MDPS - Rogue

The two tanks and the rogue is alts of players from the first team.  I will also need to find another dps, maybe a hunter by next week.  I really would like to have a core 10-man and use the first raid team as a back-up for when someone from our group can't make it.  Hopefully I can get a core 10 within a week.

While trying to recruit ppl for the raid team, I've been leveling my priest which is currently at 71.  I'm also trying to gear up my pally, so we won't have 3 druid healers... I don't even want to think about that!

Until my next post...

AFK

Sorry I have been absent from here... life has been keeping me busy!

This is more of an recruitment post.  I'll be starting a 2nd 10-man raid team and looking for anyone who's interested.

If gear is a problem, the guild can get items crafted and run heroics which a bunch of us do nightly anyways.
The guild supplies food, flasks and repairs for the raid.  The raid times will be Tues & Thurs 8:30 - 11:30 pm.   Days and times are not set in stone and can be adjusted to fit the teams needs.

If you're interested, contact me in-game.  If I'm not on Puka, check Champange or Imaheal.

Halfus down again

Went into BoT again last night... with the reset, we got a different set-up on the drakes as last week.
It took us some time but after about 90 mins of wipes, we were able to take down Halfus.

We went onto the twin dragons and was able to make some progess but time expired for us... hopefully the Monday group will be able to take them down.

On a side note, we're recruiting for a 2nd team... if you're interested let me know.
If you need gear, the guild can craft them or we can run heroics which is done nightly.

If certain people are interested, I'll be willing to move that 2nd team... *hint* *hint*

Halfus on a stick

Halfus is DEAD!

We had a few wipes before Halfus fell to KotC!
Did a hand full of attempts on the second boss and was able to get it to the 2nd phase.

I have a feeling the group will down the 2nd boss on Monday.

Congrats to KotC... will post pics of Halfus kill later.

Halfus wins

Got my update from Skru this morning that the raid didn't do so well last night.  Halfus is still standing and is laughing at us.  He wasn't sure what the problem was, aside from one of the tank dying farily quickly after the fight started.  Since I was in attendance, I can't give my input and it's not fair for my to even give my thoughts about it.

Thursday I'm up to bat and so is my wife.  Hopefully we'll get a new set of drakes since this is Tuesday. . . I do need to get some crafted gear made for me, hard part is obtaining those stupid orbs that you can't trade!

Anyways, I'll be running some heroics on Puka and a couple of regulars on my pally until Thursday.

If you're interested in joining the KotC, here's the link to post an app:  Knight of the Citadel
Just let me know you posted an app so I can let the GM know.  They are a great group and everything is laid out on the table so there's no surprises and everyone is so willing to help one another.

Interested

Okay, not much has change... just been doing heroics.  Leveled up my alt shammy to 40 something and starting to run some instances on my pally.

Last night we had another raid meeting... due to our RL schedule, wife and I will only be raiding on Thursday night and that is fine with us, we appreciate it.  We have a set group with back-up's and rotation for myself and lindsay.

The guild would like to recruit more people so we can start 2 10-man or run a 25-man raid... *hint* *hint* a couple of mages would be nice!!!!

Anyways, I wish my guild luck tonight on Halfus... I sure hope to hear they got him down by the time I login around 9 pm.

Friday, March 11, 2011

Hmm....

After trying to down Halfus last night, it be came even more apprent that us resto druids do not have any "oh shit" heals that other healing classes has.  I did everything I could think of and then some but the over-all damage was killing us healers in regards to our mana.  DPS were doing their job, putting out awesome dps and our tanks was great as well.  Don't get me wrong, I think that our healers are great as well but the composition isn't the best.

I honestly believe if there was a holy pally there instead of me, the guild would've gotten the kill.  If there was a pally, a beacon would be up and he/she could heal both tanks and have one of the other healer spot healing while concentrating on the raid with the 3rd healer.

During my off nights, I'm going to get my pally geared up as holy with a prot off-spec.  So if we're in a situation like this again, I can suggest to bring in my pally for a few tries to determine if it's better.

Anyways, looking forward to stepping in again on next Thursday....

Bashton of Twilight

We went into Baston of Twilight tonight with the hopes of taking down Halfus.

The closest we got him down was 47%,  We had a shammy, priest and myself healing... not the best composition imo.  All in all, we did really well and I had a blast wiping.  The group goes back in on Monday night and I have a feeling they'll get him down.

Sorry no pics... wanting to wait for a boss down first....

Latest update

Been running heroics, getting people geared up.
Our raid schedule will be Monday and Thursday evenings 8 - 11 pm.  Lindsay and I already have a standing commitment on Monday's so there will be 2 people going in our place on those nights.

We're going to start out in Baston of Twilight... so from now until Thursday, more heroics.

Hard night and great news for Resto

WoW... last night was a hard night.  One of our tank wanted to run a heroic but on his lock... I was asked to heal.  Since he's been helping us going with heroic runs and obtaining gear I said lets go.  We wented up with 4 guildmembers, pugging a tank.. about 20 mins in queue we got HoO.
You're probably thinking, easy right... wrong, a freshly heroic geared warrior as a tank.  Wipe and Wipe again and then he bales before the first boss.  Then we get a pally that's isn't geared any better but at least knows some of his/her limitation.  We got done with HoO without finishing it because the tank wasn't able to grab all of the adds on the last boss and we had enough of him, we called it.

Then I queue up with Skru to do a random, we got Stonecore... my nightmare as a resto.  It was painful with me deal more times than I care to but we cleared it.

On an up note... this is from the 4.1 PTR patch notes:
Efflorescence has been redesigned. It creates a healing zone at the feet of a Swiftmend  target, but this healing zone now restores health equal to 4/8/12% of the amount healed by Swiftmend to the three most injured targets within 8 yards, every 1 second for 7 seconds. This periodic effect now also benefits from spell haste, but the individual ticks cannot be critical effects.

We now have a smart heal.  This is a greal heal for 25-man content due to people won't be as spread out as much... I'll have to see how it goes in 10-man.... either way, I am happy with what they did with Efflorescence.

Until my next post...

Welcome

To my WoW family - you know who you are... =)

If you're still having fun playing WoW or would like to come back to the game, I strongly suggest you app with the guild we're in now.  We (meaning myself, wife and skru) would love to be in the same guild and play with you again.

We never had to pug for a heroic, okay maybe once for a tank but it was an off night for most.  The guild will be starting a 10-man progession team with back-up members, currently we have 14 people wanting to raid.  The guild would like to run a 25-man team if there's enough interested.  There's a group of senior members that runs older Wrath raid to get titles, ach and mounts.

If you have any questions about the guild, let me know and I'll answer any doubts or questions.
Post a reply here or catch me in-game.  =)

Until my next post...

Rinse and Repeat

More heroics tonight and more to come tomorrow.
Raid leader informed me that he wants to run me through whatever heroics I need to up my gear.

Shouldn't be too bad, the gear that I can upgrade comes from Lost City, Halls and Throne...

Until my next post...

Quick update

There was no cata raid this past weekend... although we do have the numbers for a 10-man group with back-ups, just need to make sure we have the right raid composition.

All is not lost, Lindsay got her Kingslayer title on Friday night I think.  I ran a few heroics over the weekend and I was able to get Of the Nightfall title last night...  let me tell you that clearing the trash took longer.

More heroics during the week and I'll be going into ICC on Friday night to get my Kingslayer title.

Until my next post...

Another great night

It was another good night for WoW.  Logged on to do the random heroic, was going as dps but ended up healing.  It has been some time since I healed on Puka and let me just say I had fun.

It was confirmed tonight that I'll be healing in raids, I am looking forward to the challenges.

Until my next post.... wish me luck tomorrow night in our first raid.

Oh the fun times

Last night we did the "weekly raid" from Wrath just to get the quick JP's.  It was the first boss in the spider wing in Naxx. . . lets just say it took us longer getting there then it was to kill it, all of 40 secs to earn 130 JP.

After that 5 of us decided to queue up for a random heroic and got GB.  I went in as boomkin, it went very well and quick... no drops for me but I did get my helm with the JP I got from there.

My current GS as Resto is 344, and I was informed that I will be healing this Friday in our first raid.  I think tonight I'll run as much heroics as I can to see if there's anything else I can upgrade.  I want this run to go smoothly for me instead of stressing out.

Let me say this again, everyone in our guild has been great.  The over-all experience has been nothing short of wonderful.

Once I start raiding, I'll be posting more on a regular basis.

Until my next post....

Guild Meeting

We (my wife, skru and I) attended our first guild meeting with KotC.
It was cool, the GM intro herself and her style, what the guild is about and what is expected.
The two types of raiding they have done in the past and will try to continue with this expac.
I've got to be honest, I was little bored but it should be stuff a person knows... but it was refreshing that it was said in vent where EVERYONE who attended could hear it.  There were jokes made of one another but the over-all feeling is good for me.
The 3 of us expressed our interested in raiding, if we're not selected we'll be selected as an alt at first.
The primary group will be selected by the RL with some reserves incase somebody does show up.  They're the team that will push through the content.
There will be another team does Wrath content and achievements in regular and hardmode with a little dabbling into current content.  To be honest, it doesn't matter which group I'm with it just seems to be a lot of fun with them.

Until my next post...

KotC

Let me tell you, our new home has been refreshing to say the least!
There's always someone on and there's always somebody willing to run either a regular or heroic.

I'm not a person to ask for help, I don't mind sitting in queue while I farm mines and flowers.
But with this guild, there's officers and guildmembers asking and wanting people to do regulars and heroics.
I've seen many times when those people are playing an alt and someone ask in chat if anyone in guild is interested in doing a heroic, there's multiple people asking what is needed and a person or two will come on their main or one of their many alts.

The guild will be holding a meeting tomorrow night to find out who's interested in raiding and determine if it'll be 10 or 25-man composition.  It will also be decided what nights and times the raid will be on.
I had a good discussion with one of the officers this weekend.  Basically he's been take time out of his game play to help others obtain the gear needed to raid.  He and other members takes the time to help others who are nervous, new or whatever it may be to get comfortable with the new game play.  They have an understanding that a raid group is a team and team members help one another out... something refreshing from another guild that I won't mention.  They're also willing to help farm mats for crafting epic gear to those mains that is interested in raiding.

Over the weekend, I've done several heroics as a boomkin.  My gear and dps is there for 10-man content but I'm still not 100% satisfy with my healing ability on him.  I also have been gearing up my holy pally, which I'm a little more comfortable healing with.  After the meeting tomorrow night, I'll decided what spec my druid will play.

Until my next post....

Update

Sorry for the absence, seems like it's happening more than I thought it would.

After the incident with MotD, we joined an alt-guild with some of the members from MotD.
Unfortunately due to bad timing, several people were not logging in due to RL situations.

A couple of nights ago, myself, my wife and Skru found a new home.  I think this will be a good fit, minus the "family."  It was a decision that was made with the 3 of us and what we wanted out of the game.  We also had the blessings from our former guild-members which meant a lot.

While we are enjoying our new-found friends, I do miss the "family" but I'm sure we'll keep in touch and hopefully when they all return back to the game they'll decide to join up with us.

I got my pally up to 85 last night and I'll start running regular instances to get him ready for heroics.  Puka is not on the shelf just yet... I just want to have another type of healer for situational purposes.

Until my next post.....

Monday, February 7, 2011

Quick Update

Just a quick update on what's been going on...

I'm no longer part of the MotD, actually A LOT of people are no longer part of the guild.  I won't go into details but I'll say that the GM's would take one person word on guild matter vs the masses, then something is wrong.

Those that were kicked out of the guild and have left due to the situation have made a new home.  It's just too bad we have to start at level 1 again, at least we're all playing together.

Been busy with real life stuff, hopefully everything has settled down and we can get back into the routine of the game.  Hopefully we'll be raiding soon, there's only 2 or 3 people in the guild that needs some gear and we'll be ready to go.

Until my nex post..

Finishing up

I finished up the quest line in TH and I'm off to Vash.

Awaiting for the merc ship.

For some strange reason, I enjoyed this part...

This was bugged for me, as you can see I was in boomkin form and never completed the quest.  So I had to drop the quest and start it over in SW.  This time I stayed in my NE form.

Until my next post....

(H) Pinnacle

Last night we were a little smarter, we didn't pick to do the random heroic... instead we went with Pinnacle.  Been there both on normal and heroic, it's fairly quick and easy for the most part.  I was able to try out a new healing "style" of sort.  Instead of making sure everyone is at 90-100% at all times, I played triage healing.  I'll get more into in anothe post soon.

We wiped a few times, mainly because of me... which I apologize for.  On the last boss, we needed Bounce or Snuggles.... so after a few wipes, our tank switched over to his shadow priest to dispell and our hunter switched over to his tank... boss downed.

All in all it was a descent run, my wife got an upgrade for her shoulders.

Until my next post...

WTF

Alright, wife and I logged on late last night.  It was odd because there wasn't that many guildies online.
We decided to run a heroic to get geared up... Queue up for the random and Stonecore was the flavor.

I've done this instance on regular and it was fairly easy.  This was my first time doing on heroic along with my wife, skru and krugg.  Let me say, WTF in regards to the first boss. . .  we kept wiping and a little over an hour into it we called it.  I blame myself for it... I will admit, I wasn't capable to heal the amount of damage people were taking.  Maybe I'm a bad healer... maybe I need to work on my rotation... maybe I need to research more on boss fights.... maybe resto druid isn't the best healing class for this particular boss.

On an up note, we have filled out our roster for the 2nd raid team.  We'll try and step into our first raid encounter on Feb 11th.  I'm excited and looking forward to it.  I'll continue to run heroics for upgrades for myself and help others as well.

Until my next post...

Closer than I thought

Apparently I'm closer to the average ilvl gear of 341 than I thought.
I'm at 340 - I forgot I just some Justice Points and Hyjal Rep to obtain some gear.

Still by no means will I stop running heroics.  I'll continue to run them as time permits until we start raiding.
Even then, on off nights I'll probably still run then to obtain some upgrades.  Knowing my luck and past history, I'll be the last person to get an upgrade in raid.... I just roll really crappy, since back in vanilla.

until my next post...

Magic Number and other going on

Apparently the magic number to step into 10-man content is 341.  I forsee a lot more heroic runs in my future.  That's alright though, running heroics with my wife, friend and guildies makes it much more tolerable to endure the length of heroics.  My wife and Skru have gotten several upgrades so far in heroics... I'm still waiting for my turn.
I'll be part of the 2nd 10-man team in the guild, along with my wife and friend.  Hopefully Blackwing Descent will be our first adventure.

On another note, I've been helping my wife level up her jewelcrafting.  I found a nice little farming spot and only need to spend about 45 mins to an hour to get her all the ores she needs.

I do need to replenish my gold though... I'm down to 4k on Puka, so that means more farming for flowers and ores to sell.  It doesn't help that spend a little over 2k last night to max my first aid.

No real updates or pics due I'm posting this from work

Fun times in BRC

Thanks again to guildies, we rand (H) BRC last night.
We had a pally tank, ele shammy, lock, ret pally and myself.

Lets just after 3+ hours, we completed the instance.  Of all of the wipes, the 2nd boss was most entertaining to me.

After several or MANY wipes on this boss... she went down.

I want to thank everyone for sticking it out with us, I did have a blast with all of the wipes.

Until my next post....

(H) Vortex Pinnacle

1. Kids in la-la land. . . check
2. Is wife toon, heroic ready. . .about 45 mins later and 3k later, check
3. Luck it was an all guild run but it had to be something short due time restraints.

Off to Vortex Pinnacle we went...

In this pic is myself, Skru (a good friend) and my wife.
Our and shadow priest went ahead.

All in all, it was a good run.  We wiped a few times but nobody stressed over it and we moved on.  Thank you everyone, it was a fun night.

I'm a loser

I'm a loser, I haven't posted anything for days.

Nothing really to post really, I just been farming in Deepholm and TH.

Been trying to get in heroics but due one reason or another, it isn't happened on a nightly basis.  When I queue in LFG, average wait time has been 43 mins.  I'll get there soon enough, it's not like the next expansion will be out soon... I got at least 2 more years to see and get through content.

Check back here, I'll post some pics and my thoughts on running heroics.

Twilight Highlands

Another night of digging around in Eastern Kingdom, trying to level up Archaeology.

Then off to Twilight Highlands to complete any quests there for rep and gold... all the while queue up for random heroics.

On top of a dragon to kill it, this was a fun quest...

Just thought this pic would look cool...

What a nice way to great Mr. Badass Dragon!

Until my next post...

UMMM....

I'm a slacker, I know!
Nothing really to say, I have gear to run heroic 5-mans but haven't been in one yet.
When I'm able to commit to the time, people in my guild either is in a run or is about to log for the night.  I queue up in LFG (as dps) but the queue times I've experience is 44+ minutes.   I want to get a couple of heroic gear so I'll be more comfortable healing and if I have to queue up, I won't be waiting so long.

Other updates;  my wife is playing, after a year in hiatus she is back and I am excited.  Our good friend is also back playing the game after a year and a half away.  He did a server xfer and a faction change just to play with us.
On another note, it was mention in gchat last night that the guild first adventure into either 10 or 25-man content will be in about 2 weeks.  I sure hope I can be there for it, I feel like I missed out starting this xpac after most of my guildies.

Anyways, I'll put up a real post with some pics in the next day or two....

WTF

So, I go flying around T.H. and come across this...

I must've missed this when I was playing around in the beta because this caught me by surprise.

Spent most of my day...

Picking flowers and doing some mining.
